Jones Lang LaSalle acquired the previous leader of our table, Churston Heard, in July 2008, helping it to jump from 15th to second place. Other agents to disappear from the top 50 after takeovers were Alston Nock, Donaldsons, Hamilton Glen, Leslie Furness, Markham Vaughan Gillingham and Paul Nichols.

The leading letting agent is now Cushman & Wakefield, which has increased its points by more than 50%. There were 10 new entrants to the top 50: the highest, at 26, was Nash Bond, closely followed by SGM, Macarthur Wilson and BWD.
